WHAT PRECEPTORS SAY ABOUT OUR
PA STUDENTS
ADAM GARFIELD, PA-C
[Student] has a very pleasant demeanor. She is easy to get along with and works well with all staff. She has a good foundation of knowledge that will continue to grow. She has a great growth-mindset and always looking for ways to improve. She is able to easily build rapport and trust with patients. She is great at charting and willing to learn and do things that providers do that aren't necessarily taught in the classroom.
DR DAVID COX, MD
[Student] has an impressive background which gives her exceptional confidence and competence which is not often seen in a first clinical rotation. I was amazed at her fund of knowledge and her enthusiasm for filling any gaps in her knowledge.
ANNONYMOUS
Excellent student, highly motivated and eager to learn. My patients loved him and complimented him a lot. One of the best students I've had with work with me.
KRISTI ICE, ______
Proactive, helpful, great relations with staff and patients. Numerous patients commented on [Student] being very personal. He engaged very well and was extremely comfortable with pediatric patients which can be challenging for many students. He was focused on helping expedite the flow of patients and helping wherever needed.
DR GREGORY BAIRD, MD
A valuable part of the team and will be missed. Difficult to remember that she is still a student. She built our palliative medicine program which is more being used by the Utah CMS QIO Comagine. Role model as an advocate for even difficult patients and great interpersonal skills and bedside manner. I recommend she seek a management and leadership position. She is a provider I would send family to.
DR JEFF NANCE, MD
Incredible student. Hard-working, dependable, compassionate, and empathetic. The type of student that preceptors want to teach because she takes it all in and improves/grows. I was quite impressed with her technical skills in the operating room and felt comfortable leaving her with my patients to take notes and formulate assessments. She is a skilled practitioner and very good at putting patients' minds at ease.
DR MATTHEW CARTER, MD
[Student] is extremely dependable, honest, thoughtful, insightful, and intellectually curious. He understands social awareness and social cues. He is excellent with kids and families. Kids had no trouble warming up to him as his approach and style was approachable and comforting. Parents respected his approach and instructions. He is able to adapt very quickly, learns quickly, and applies knowledge with precision. He is able to fill in pieces very quickly, ask questions when appropriate, and has a half honest humbled demeanor that will make him an excellent physician assistant in the early and later years of practice. I have complete confidence and faith that he will continue to do well, advance tremendously, and be a great asset to his patients and employment. Phenomenal!
CRAIG HUMES, PA-C
Life experience has made [Student] a very strong and well-liked provider. He has gained the respect of patients, office staff, as well as providers. He is very well-liked and will be missed as part of our practice. [Student] will go far as a provider and I feel will be a great asset to any practice he chooses to join. He will be a great ambassador of our profession.
ADAM GARFIELD, PA-C
[Student] was willing to start seeing patients on day 1. There were moments when he helped us room patients and perform a full assessment. He seemed to have good time management when interviewing patients. He was a good listener, friendly, interactive with staff, willing to learn, willing to try new things, and open to suggestions. Out of all of the students I've had, he has been the best at presentation. A couple of patients said we should hire him. In the short time I was with him, I saw a big change from essentially performing "book medicine" to really embodying the "art of medicine." For instance, he was able to consider income/insurance status and make sure he didn't order unnecessary tests or prescribe expensive medications.
